The recent restoration work. Unfortunately I forgot to take “before” photos so I use photos of my client. The main material is shibuischi despite it can look almost like shakudo in some pictures. What started as a normal re-patination became much complicated when I realized that yellowish spots on ura side is actually pollution by fire gilding. In the close-up photo you can see quite thick remnants of gold particles. So I had to remove gilding and to harmonize the entire surface with original state.
